Help Durand-Hedden raise the necessary funds for a new roof by joining us for an evening of wine, light appetizers, and an early viewing of the "Frederick Law Olmsted and the Hudson River School" exhibit. Tickets are $75 per person.

About the event
The slate roof of the Durand Hedden House is over 100 years old and is failing. There are cracked and broken slates and worn flashing in many areas. The wood components are deteriorating. The slate roof, along with the sheathing beneath, needs to be replaced. The weight of the slate has impacted the structure beneath and some framing will need to be repaired or reinforced.
This is a huge undertaking. Although we have been saving funds for this project over many years, the cost is likely to be far beyond what we have, especially because of unforeseen economic factors that affect the cost of materials. We hope that you, in our community, who have been so supportive of our events, will help us. The roof is the most important component protecting the historic house as well as the treasures inside.

Durand-Hedden fundraiser
Thank you for supporting Durand-Hedden's Raising the Roof! campaign. Our fundraising event takes place on Friday, May 16, from 7 pm to 9 pm, at Durand-Hedden House. Ticket holders will enjoy refreshments and an early viewing of the Frederick Law Olmsted and the Hudson River School with an expert guide.
